A Thought Leader Production by PKFTexas

PKF Texas: The Entrepreneur’s Playbook® – Gary Voth

Greg: This is PKF Texas’ The Entrepreneur’s Playbook. I’m Greg Price, Director of Consulting Solutions and I’m here again with Gary Voth, a Director in our Tax Department at PKF Texas. Gary, welcome back to the Playbook.

Gary: Thank you, Greg.

Greg: Gary, we recently had the Fast Tech 50 Program here in Houston and you attended. What were some of your takeaways from that particular event?

Gary: Well, my suspicion going into the conference was that it would be dominated by energy-related companies and the conference confirmed that for me.

Greg: Perfect. So what did you think are some takeaways for those companies in terms of their business models?

Gary: Well, these companies are growing rapidly. That’s why they’re being rewarded within that program, but I do believe their next challenge is to sustain their growth as well as to maximize their profitability.

Greg: Can you amplify that a little bit and give us a little more meat on the bone, there?

Gary: Well, these companies have been focused on finding the market for their product and developing their product. Now they need to take it to the stage of developing their business.

Greg: Okay and what can PKF Texas do to help these companies?

Gary: Well for varying stages of companies, we can be an outsourced accounting department, an outsourced comptroller for mid-stage companies. We can perform audits when they’re ready to go find additional financing and if they really are in a late-stage looking for an exit strategy, we can help assist to make sure they’re in the best position for that.

Greg: So that’s pretty cool. We cover the whole waterfront.

Gary: That’s right.

Greg: Gary, thanks for being here.

Gary: All right. Thank you, Greg.

Greg: This has been another Thought Leader Production, brought to you by PKF Texas’ The Entrepreneur’s Playbook. Tune in next week for another chapter and remember if you’re looking for more information on our capabilities in the energy field, go to pkftexas.com.
